The stock market closed in the red on Friday, the last day of the trading week. When the stock market went down, it was the investors’ turn to cry. Before closing at 3.30 pm, Sensex recorded a fall of 1200 points. However, when the market closed at 3.30 pm, the Sensex was down 1100 points at 78,041.59. While Nifty closed at 23,623.40 points with a fall of 328.30 points.
5th consecutive day of decline
The period of decline in the market continues. Sensex Nifty closed with decline for the 5th consecutive day. Midcap, smallcap indices fell the most. Selling was seen in all the sector indices of BSE, while Realty, IT, PSE indices fell the most. Auto, energy, infra stocks were on selloff while metal, oil-gas banking stocks were on selloff. FMCG, Pharma indices closed with losses.
Top Gainer-Top Loser
Trent, Tech Mahindra, M&M, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank were the top losers of Nifty. Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Nestle India, ICICI Bank were the top gainers in Nifty. If we look at the sectoral front, all the sector indices have closed in the red. Realty index fell 4 percent. Auto, IT, Capital Goods, Metal, Telecom, PSU Bank indices have fallen up to 2 percent.
