Dehradun, 31 October (HS). The delegation of Uttarakhand Unemployed Union on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar at the Police Headquarters demanding immediate increase in the age limit in police recruitment.
Vice President of Uttarakhand Unemployed Union, Ram Kandwal said that the unemployed have been demanding to increase the age limit in police recruitment for a long time. Thousands of unemployed people of the state have marched to the Secretariat and Chief Minister's residence several times under the leadership of Uttarakhand Unemployed Union. Officials of Uttarakhand Unemployed Union have also taken steps like hunger strike and climbing on the tank, but despite repeatedly meeting the police headquarters, government administration and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and getting assurances, the laxity of the police headquarters and the government administration's attitude towards the unemployed. Due to this very indifferent attitude, lakhs of unemployed people of the state are feeling cheated by not increasing the age limit in police recruitment.
Uttarakhand Unemployed Union spokesperson Suresh Singh said that on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the police headquarters, administration and state government have turned the festival of lights into darkness by giving the gift of disappointment and frustration to the unemployed people of the state due to which there is huge anger among the unemployed people of the state. . In such a situation, the government and administration should show utmost sensitivity and immediately take a positive decision till 'State Foundation Day' in the interest of the unemployed people of the state and increase the age limit in dynamic police recruitment. Otherwise, the unemployed people of the state will be forced to resort to state-wide agitation and some suicidal steps, the entire responsibility of which will be on the police headquarters, administration and the Chief Minister himself.
Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar assured the unemployed that he is immediately sending a proposal to the government to increase the age limit on the lines of Uttar Pradesh and Himachal, on which a decision has to be taken at the government level. On this occasion, state spokesperson of Uttarakhand Unemployed Union Suresh Singh, Sachin Purohit, Sachin Tomar were also present.
