Dhamtari, 16 October (HIST). The police has arrested a young man who was scaring the villagers by showing them a sword. The sword has been seized from the accused and action has been taken against him.
According to the information received from the police post Karelibari, on October 16, police patrolling had gone towards village Bhendri, when information was received from an informer near village Bhendri Chowk that a person named Mohammad Sameer was roaming in village Budheni with an iron sword in his hand. Scaring people walking on the road.
Taking immediate action on the information, the police reached the spot and laid siege to it and seized the iron sword in the hand of the young man. When asked about his name and address in front of the witnesses, the accused youth revealed his name as Mohammad Sameer, 26 years old, resident of Tarri Road Navaparai, Police Station Gobra Navapara, District Raipur. The police have registered a case against the accused, duly arrested him and sent him on judicial remand.
