Visa-exempt countries: Indonesia is about to make your dream vacation even more possible. The Indonesian government has announced plans to provide free visas to travelers from India as well as 19 other countries in a bid to boost tourism and revive the economy.
Indonesia free entry visa
This exciting initiative, led by Indonesia's Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno, aims to finalize the free visa program ahead of the government transition in October 2024.
By eliminating visa hassles for travelers from India and other major tourism markets, Indonesia is expected to see an increase in foreign tourist arrivals. As a result, it is expected to boost domestic spending, attract foreign investment and accelerate the development of the digital economy.
Focus on quality tourism
Before the pandemic, the average tourist spent about $900 in Indonesia. However, recent trends have seen a significant increase, with each tourist spending an average of $1,600. Minister Uno believes the program will attract “quality tourists” – travelers who stay longer and contribute more to the local economy.
