Barmer, September 11 (HS). Shiv MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati of Barmer district has sent a group of elderly people including 80 women of his constituency for Haridwar pilgrimage by train. Elders and women were seated in the train going from Barmer to Rishikesh after applying tilak and wearing dupatta. MLA Bhati said that this initiative has not been taken only as a journey. Rather it is a message – of their responsibility and respect towards the society, which is also our duty towards our elders. In Haridwar, he will stay with the elders like father and the mother power. He will do the aarti of Ganga Maayya and pray for prosperity for the state and the people.
Actually, Shiv MLA is taking different initiatives for the people of his constituency. A few months ago, he had taken students on a tour of the Vidhan Sabha. Now, a group of 80 elderly people including women have been sent on a free pilgrimage to Haridwar by train from Barmer.
The elderly people sitting in the train say that this is not just a journey, but an emotional and praiseworthy initiative to add a precious and memorable moment to the life of the elderly. This journey has special significance for those elderly people whose steps may not be able to walk as fast now. But whose wings of faith and devotion still dream of flying to holy places like Haridwar.
