BJP candidate from Pehowa assembly seat Ajarana returned the ticket | News India

Chandigarh, September 10 (HS). Kamaljit Singh Ajarana, the BJP candidate from Pehowa assembly constituency, who was surrounded by controversies after his photo with Pakistani soldiers went viral, announced on Tuesday that he will not contest the elections and returned the ticket. On Tuesday, Sardar Kamaljit Singh Ajarana withdrew from the election fray even before filing his nomination. Ajarana was facing opposition ever since he got the ticket.

In fact, BJP had cut the ticket of current MLA and former Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Sandeep Singh from Pehowa assembly constituency and gave it to Ajarana. More than half a dozen leaders were in the race for BJP ticket from Pehowa. BJP had given ticket to Ajarana by betting on a Sikh face. Internal sources of BJP say that after the rebellion that took place after the announcement of Ajarana's ticket, BJP had also started reconsidering its decision internally.

Ajarana was active for a long time through Sikh organizations. During his Pakistan tour, photos with Pakistani soldiers and Pakistani officials went viral. Due to which Ajarana was being surrounded from all sides. He said that on Monday night itself he had informed the party leadership in this regard. Ajarana said that when a small worker like me was given a ticket, I felt very proud. BJP is the biggest party in the world. He said that many other leaders were also in the race for the ticket. We all used to meet in New Delhi. At that time, the talk was that no matter who gets the ticket, everyone will contest the elections together, but after I got the ticket, most of them started opposing me. All workers and leaders should follow the instructions of the party but this did not happen.
