The car blast near the Red Fort of Delhi has shaken the entire country. A Hyundai i20 car parked near Gate No. 1 of the metro station suddenly exploded. About eight cars parked nearby were damaged in the blast. According to initial information, 8 people have died and about 30 people have been injured in this accident. As soon as information about the incident was received, teams of fire brigade, police and NSG immediately reached the spot.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself visited the incident site and reached the hospital to meet the injured. After the blast, Delhi Police Commissioner has declared high alert in the entire city. Along with this, NIA and NSG teams have also started investigation. The forensic team is also collecting samples from the remains of the car and the surrounding areas.
According to sources, the blast occurred in a moving car and the blast occurred at the rear of the car. Surprisingly, there was no crater at the spot and no bullets or wires were seen entering the bodies of the injured. Due to which investigation is going on whether the explosion was caused by the effect of petrol or gas or by some other chemical reaction. The police team has taken car driver Nadeem Khan into custody and his interrogation is ongoing.
Efforts are being made to find out the registration number of the car on the basis of its parts. A team of Special Cell is collecting evidence along with forensic experts. The names of the dead and injured in the incident have been revealed, which include people from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
After this horrific incident in Delhi, high alert has been declared in many states including Gujarat. Checking of every vehicle entering the border districts of Gujarat has been started. Police have been kept on alert mode from Banaskantha to Valsad. For security reasons, additional patrolling has been started in the coastal areas, especially in Valsad and Junagadh. Vehicles are also being thoroughly checked in Morbi, Navsari and other cities to ensure that there is no suspicious activity.
After this entire incident, security agencies across the country including Delhi have become active. The investigation is ongoing and it is likely that the real reason for the blast will be known after the preliminary report by NIA.
