Raipur: There is a saying that ‘the hands of the law are very long’. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Chhattisgarh has once again proved this saying to be true. In the largest and most popular ‘liquor scam’ of the state so far, ED has filed a charge sheet which has brought a storm in the politics of the entire state.
This is not a minor charge sheet, but a heavy ‘pulinda’ of 7,039 pages, on which every page has written the accounts of the difficulties for the family of former Congress Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. And his son has been made the main character of this story Chaitanya Baghel To.
What is this entire ‘liquor scandal’?
Imagine that an illegal ‘tax’ was being charged on the sale of every bottle of liquor in the state. The ED alleges that between 2018 and 2023, when there was a Congress government in the state, the same thing happened.
- How used to play?: A complete syndicate was created, which included big leaders, officers and liquor traders. This syndicate used to sell fake and non-accounted liquor from government liquor shops.
- 2100 crores ‘black earnings’: With this entire fraud 2100 crores rupees More than the ‘black money’ was done, it was distributed among themselves at the behest of the people sitting in a high political position.
ED’s biggest allegation against former CM’s son
In this 7,039 -page charge sheet, ED has described Chaitanya Baghel as a big ‘manager’ of this entire scam. ED lawyer Saurabh Pandey told the court:
- Management of ₹ 1000 Crore: The agency claims that the scam earned ₹ 1000 Crore Chaitanya Baghel had handled the task of making black money white and putting it here and there.
- Firm proof of ₹ 22 crore: ED says they have used by Chaitanya ₹ 22 crore There is a straightforward and sure proof of ‘criminal money’.
- Money in business: It is alleged that Chaitanya used crores of rupees from the scam in his real estate business.
Please tell that ED arrested Chaitanya Baghel from his Bhilai house on 18 July this year.
Now what next?
This is the fourth charge sheet of ED in this case. With every charge sheet, the layers of this scam are being opened further. While Bhupesh Baghel is calling it a political revenge, the ED claims that he has strong evidence to prove every allegation including digital evidence.
Now everyone’s eyes are on the court that the heat of this ‘Mahaghotale’ worth 2100 crores and which big faces reaches.
