News India Live, Digital Desk: Jharkhand government has taken steps towards minority welfare in the state. Cordoning and beautification of 634 cemeteries For Rs 146 crore Administrative approval has been given. The objective of this project is to make the cemeteries safe and provide basic facilities for the people visiting there.
1. Main features of the project
With this huge budget the following development works will be carried out in the cemeteries:
Boundary Walls: Strong fencing will be done at all the identified cemeteries to prevent encroachment.
Guard Gardening and Lighting: There will be arrangements for solar lights and proper lighting in the campuses.
Drinking water and shed: Sitting sheds and clean drinking water facilities will be developed for people coming for the last rites.
Access route: Paved roads or paths will be constructed to reach the cemetery from the main road.
2. District wise allocation and implementation
The government has selected these 634 sites on the basis of proposals received from all 24 districts of the state.
Welfare Department: This entire project will be operated through the Welfare Department.
Transparency: Local administration and concerned committees will also be involved in monitoring for proper utilization of funds.
Control on encroachment: There were complaints of encroachment on the cemetery land at many places, which this fencing project will completely end.
3. Political meaning
In view of the upcoming elections, this step of the government is also being seen as an attempt to strengthen its penetration among minority voters. The Chief Minister has clarified that the government respects the religious sentiments of every community and their basic needs.
