Yes, this dream is going to be true for 29 villages of Uttar Pradesh! The government has started a large and ambitious project to make these villages ‘smart villages’. This means that now it will not only be easy farming in these villages, but every house of the village will enjoy the facilities of the city-from electricity-water to education, health and technology, everything will change!

What is this ‘Smart Village’ project and who will be the hero of it?

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is working to bring unprecedented development in these villages under the ‘Prime Minister Kisan Sampada Yojana’. This village will not be part of an ordinary project, but will be developed in such a way that they become self -sufficient, and people here can get the benefits of urban lifestyle without leaving their homes. The entire responsibility and cooperation is being given to the Self Help Groups – SHGS under the ‘Mukhyamantri Gramin Path seller Utthan Yojana’. This means that rural women and youth themselves will be a part of this change and will bring it to the ground.

So what is going to change in these 29 villages?

Think, now your village will have all these facilities:

1. Changing photo: greenery and waste management:

   • History will be garbage: Garbage will be collected from house to house in the village and will be recycled scientifically. The word ‘garbage’ will be out of the dictionary of these villages.

   • Greenery is greenery: Plantation will be done to make the village green. The air will be clean and natural beauty will increase.

2. Clean water and lights in every house:

   • Water pipeline: Now there will be a provision of pure drinking water in every house. The hassle of going away for water is over.

   • Light from solar energy: No electricity problem! The use of solar energy from street lights to homes will be increased, which will not only be cheaper but will also be good for the environment.

3. Modern facility to farmer:

   • Skill development: Farmers and youth will be trained for new agricultural methods, technology and entrepreneurship.

   • Modern School: Smart classes, digital library… The children of the village will get better education, not less than the children of the city.

   • Health Center: Small Health Center where first aid is available.

5. Paved roads and traffic:

   • Villages will be linked to paved roads, which will make traffic easier. Business and external world connectivity will increase.

6. Security and Justice:

   • CCTV cameras and better coordination with local police will increase security in villages. The role of the village court will be strengthened at the local level to settle disputes.

7. Online facilities:

   • Government facilities like Aadhaar Center, online facility, bill payment, will be easily available in the village itself.

   • Internet Connectivity and Common Service Center.

This project will not only make the villages ‘smart’, but will also give rural India a new direction of self -reliance and development. It is expected that these 29 villages will become an inspiration for the whole country as to how the ‘heart’ villages of India can also shine with the right policy and intention.
