Mumbai – A 25 -year -old Assam girl was sold in a love trap, on the pretense of marriage, sold in Pune’s Red Light area for five lakh rupees. After this incident, the Faraskhana police have registered a case against four people, including the woman’s lover and a police officer who exploited the woman on the pretext of investigation, and started further investigation. The victim woman was being forced to prostitution for the last four months. The police have arrested a woman in this case.
According to police sources, the victim is originally from Assam. She was married in 2018 and has a six -year -old daughter. The victim’s husband used to sell vegetables in Assam. He was addicted to alcohol and often tortured the victims by drinking alcohol. The victim was very tired of her husband’s torture.
During this time the victim was introduced to the accused Shafiul Abul Wahid Khan (28), who came to visit her vegetable garden. Shafiul, knowing the condition of the victim, befriended her and promised to bring her daughter to Pune, marry her and give her a better life. Fed up with life, the victim believed the words of the accused Shafiul and agreed to come to Pune. Shafiul brought the victim from Assam to Pune by plane and made a deal with Papa Sheikh for five lakhs with another accused Papa Sheikh in the red light area of Path here on Wednesday.
Papa Sheikh had pushed the victim into forcibly prostitution and was earning money by getting her prostitution for the last four months. The incident also included another woman named Kamali, incomplete in the red light area. During this, a Pune police officer also sexually abused him on the pretext of investigation. Finally, a few days ago the victim woman came in contact with an NGO and told her her tragedy. The police took action in this matter after NGO members informed the Faras Khana Police Station. However, the police did not take any action against their own police officer, some NGO volunteers protested in front of the police station and raised slogans. In the end, the police registered a case against the officer, the woman’s lover Shafiul, Papa Sheikh, who runs a prostitution business in the red light area and freed the victim from prostitution.
