18% increase in profit and new solar project

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has released financial results for the December quarter. The company’s profit increased by 18 percent to Rs 65.61 crore in the December quarter of the current financial year, while the company recorded a profit of Rs 55.61 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. The total income in this quarter increased from Rs 463.46 crore to Rs 581.46 crore on an annual basis, while the expenditure increased from Rs 383.28 crore to Rs 482.22 crore.

Look at the stock on Monday

After the positive results of the December quarter, investors will keep an eye on the shares of NTPC Green Energy Limited on Monday. For the past few weeks, the stock had been sluggish and on Friday it closed down at Rs 112. On 13 January 2025, the stock was priced at Rs 109.40, which is equal to the minimum level of 52 weeks.

Listing was done in November

NTPC Green Energy shares were listed in November 2024, and on the first day of business, the IPO issue price closed up 13 percent against the Rs 108. The company had kept an issue price of Rs 10,000 crore share of Rs 102-108 per share. NTPC Green Energy is a ‘Maharatna’ central public sector enterprise employed in solar and wind energy as well as other renewable energy sectors.

New solar project

Just before the December quarter results, on January 24, NTPC Green Energy Limited announced that its unit NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) had received a 300 MW solar project from NHPC. The project was resulted in a successful bidder in the auction organized by NHPC, which was concluded on 23 January.
