News India Live, Digital Desk: Jharkhand Cabinet’s Big Decision: Champai Soren government of Jharkhand has taken many big and important decisions in the cabinet meeting held on Monday, which will have a direct impact on the youth, poor and government employees of the state. A total of 28 proposals were approved in the meeting, the most important of which are amendment in the recruitment rules of clerks and increasing the amount of Ambedkar Housing Scheme.

10th pass can also become clerk, typing test made mandatory

The state government has made a major change in the recruitment rules of clerks to provide more employment opportunities to the youth. Now 10th pass candidates will also be able to apply for district level clerk posts. Earlier the minimum qualification for these posts was 12th pass (Intermediate).

However, the government has also added a condition to it. Now typing test will be mandatory for recruitment to these posts. Candidates must show typing speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 words per minute in English. This decision has been taken with the aim of improving the quality and speed of work in government offices.

Ambedkar Housing Scheme amount increased

The Cabinet has also decided to increase the amount given under ‘Ambedkar Awas Yojana’ which provides permanent houses to the poor. Now the beneficiaries of this scheme will get Rs 2 lakh instead of Rs 1.30 lakh for building a house. This increased amount will be applicable from April 1, 2024 only. This decision will be of great help to thousands of poor families of the state in fulfilling their dream of owning a permanent house.

Other important decisions of the cabinet:

  • Dearness allowance of government employees increased: Dearness Allowance (DA) of state government employees and pensioners has been increased from 46% to 50%. This will be effective from January 1, 2024.
  • Electricity subsidy scheme will continue: The subsidy scheme providing 100 units of free electricity to farmers and domestic consumers will continue for the next one year.
  • Many new roads approved: Proposals for construction of several new roads and bridges have also been approved to improve connectivity in the state.
  • Direct Recruitment in Police Department: Now there will be 100% direct recruitment on the posts of constable.

These decisions of the Champai Soren government are being seen as a big attempt to woo the public before the upcoming assembly elections.
