On this auspicious date, the birth anniversary of Lord Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the symbol of indomitable courage and knowledge, is celebrated. Parshuram Jayanti in the year 2026 19 April, Sunday Will be celebrated. According to religious scriptures, Lord Parshuram was born in Pradosh period, hence, his birth anniversary is celebrated on the day Tritiya Tithi falls in Pradosh period. Since April 19, 2026 is a Sunday, the grace of Sun God is also making this festival especially fruitful. On this day, by doing charity and bathing in holy rivers, one attains eternal virtue. Lord Parashurama is considered ‘immortal’, hence he is counted as one of the seven Chiranjeevis.

Chanting these mantras during puja is very effective.

By chanting specific mantras during the worship of Lord Parshuram, all the troubles in the life of the seeker go away. For attaining knowledge and power, these mantras of Parashuram ji, son of sage Jamadagni, are mentioned in the scriptures:

1. Meditation Mantra of Lord Parshuram: By chanting this mantra, the Rudra and Vishnu forms of Lord Parshuram are meditated upon, which is considered helpful in achieving victory over the enemies.

‘Om Namah Parshuhastaya Namah Kodanddharine.’ ‘Namaste Rudrarupaya Vishnave Vedamurtaye.’

2. Parshuram Gayatri Mantra: If any of your old wishes are unfulfilled, then chanting this Gayatri Mantra on the day of birth anniversary is very auspicious. This increases self-confidence and concentration.

‘Om Jamdagnyaya Vidmahe Mahaviraya Dhimahi.’ ‘Tanno Parshuram: Prachodayat.’

Destruction of fear and attainment of knowledge

According to mythology, Lord Parashurama took up arms to destroy unrighteousness, but he was also the supreme knower of the Vedas. That is why he is considered a confluence of both ‘Shastra and Shastra’. On Parshuram Jayanti, his weapon ‘Parshu’ is also worshipped. On April 19, wake up early in the morning, after taking bath etc., light a ghee lamp in front of the picture or idol of Lord Parshuram. Offer them yellow flowers, sandalwood and basil leaves.
