News India Live, Digital Desk: Vakratunda Chaturthi 2025: Lord Ganesha, who is known as Vighnaharta, is considered very special in Hinduism, the festival of ‘Vakratund Chaturthi’ dedicated to his worship. Every month Sankashti Chaturthi is celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha and Vinayaka Chaturthi is celebrated on the Chaturthi of every Shukla Paksha. Both these Chaturthi have their own importance, but Vakratund Chaturthi is equally revered for Ganesha devotees. In the year 2025, Vakratund Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month will be celebrated on Friday, 17 October.

• Time of worship of Vakratund Chaturthi (Chandra Darshan): After 08 pm on 17 October 2025
• Vakratund Chaturthi in Udaya Tithi (according to sun rise): Will be celebrated on 17 October 2025.

Worship method of Vakratund Chaturthi:

1. Bath and Resolution: On the day of Chaturthi, get up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. After this, take a pledge to worship Lord Ganesha. If you are fasting, then you can take a resolution of waterless fast at this time.
2. Preparation for Pooja: Lay a red cloth at a post at the place of worship. Install the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha. Also, if you do Gauri Puja, then you can also keep a statue of Mata Parvati.
3. Panchamrit bath: Bath Ganpati Bappa with Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, Ganga water).
4. Clothing and Tilak: Offer them new clothes, especially red colored clothes. Then apply turmeric, kumkum and sandalwood tilak.
5. Dear things: Lord Ganesha loves Durva grass (21 knots), red flowers, modak or laddus, offer it all. Also offer betel nuts, betel nuts, cloves, cardamom.
6. Dhoop and lamp: Light a lamp of fragrant sun and ghee.
7. Story and Aarti: Read Ganesh Chalisa, read the fast story and finally perform the Aarti of Ganesha.
