Why is Anant Chaturdashi’s day special?

1. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu:
On this day, the infinite form of Lord Vishnu is worshiped. It is believed that by observing fast and worshiping on this day, all the sufferings of the devotees are removed and all their wishes are fulfilled.

2. Importance of ‘Anant Sutra’:
The most special thing about this worship is ‘Anant Sutra’. It is a thread of silk or cotton, in which 14 lumps are applied. These lumps are considered a symbol of 14 forms of Lord Vishnu. After the puja, men tie this thread on their right hand and women on the wrist of the left hand. This formula is believed to protect against every crisis and disaster.

3. Farewell to Ganpati Bappa:
After being a guest in our homes for 10 days, the idols of Ganpati Bappa are immersed on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. Devotees with drums and drums leave their beloved Bappa with the promise that “Ganpati Bappa Morya, next year you come soon”.
