In a huge and historic success against international organized crime and cross-border violence, top security agencies of the US, Canada and Europe have jointly executed ‘Operation Hard Ball’. Under this global mega-operation, law enforcement agencies have completely broken the backbone of the international syndicate of India’s most notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his North American commander Satinderjit Singh alias Goldie Brar and his arch rival Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. So far, 24 dangerous shooters and drug smugglers have been arrested in this raid conducted simultaneously in three different countries, which has created a stir in the global underworld.
According to the official report released by the US Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, three separate criminal cases have been filed against a total of 37 high-profile accused as part of this multinational investigation. Of the 24 criminals arrested so far, 13 have been arrested from the US (11 California, 1 Indiana and 1 Georgia), 3 from Canada and 1 from the European country Spain, while 7 main conspirators were already in jail in other cases. At present, America’s FBI, DEA and Canadian secret police are running a large-scale technical and ground search operation to nab 10 other absconding criminals hiding across Europe including India.
Mega-seizure record: One ton of cocaine recovered in Sacramento and Los Angeles
During this massive international military and police operations, search teams have seized approximately one metric ton (1000 kg) of pure cocaine, one kilogram of high-grade heroin, US$ 40,000 in unaccounted cash and more than a dozen military-grade sophisticated lethal weapons from different locations.
Based on intelligence inputs, security agencies simultaneously raided dozens of anonymous properties, including 23 high-security locations in Sacramento, California, and 11 in Los Angeles, leaving criminals with no chance to recover or destroy their digital evidence.
International empire was operating from Indian jail: Wires linked to murder in Canada
American and Canadian intelligence officials made a very shocking revelation that the main center of this entire global network was 33-year-old notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, lodged in a high-security jail in India. Bishnoi was directing his syndicate in North America and Europe from behind the jail bars using banned smartphones and highly advanced encrypted internet communication devices.
The most serious and international case on this gang is related to the target killing of Indian-origin religious leader ‘HSN’ outside a Sikh temple in Surrey city of British Columbia on June 18, 2023. Canadian investigators claim that the entire fabric of this heinous murder was woven together by Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar. Due to this increasing violent conduct, the Canadian government officially declared the Bishnoi organization a banned terrorist organization in the year 2025. Additionally, the same gang was behind extortion of millions of dollars by threatening to kill local businessmen and religious leaders in Los Angeles and Thousand Oaks, California, and looting more than 520 kilograms of cocaine from a rival Mexican cartel.
Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Syndicate: Bloody network of 1000 shooters spread across 7 countries
The second biggest attack of ‘Operation Hard Ball’ has been on the network of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Lawrence Bishnoi’s old associate and now his biggest enemy. Digital forensic data from US investigative agencies has revealed that the bloody web of Bhagwanpuria syndicate has spread across seven countries including India, US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and UK, with more than 1,000 active sleeper cells and shooters.
This dangerous gang carries out heinous crimes like contract killing, smuggling of illegal automatic weapons and kidnapping for ransom at international level. This syndicate is notorious in India for influencing some corrupt elements to file false police complaints against their rivals and influencing the entire judicial system by intimidating witnesses.
Ravinder Singh Dhanda Network: Drugs were smuggled across the border through long distance trucks.
In this joint action, the third case has been registered against the international drug trafficking organization of Ravinder Singh Dhanda operating in Vancouver, Canada. This network was smuggling hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and dangerous ‘methamphetamine’ drugs across the border from Southern California every week by hiding the drugs in secret cellars and cabins of long-haul trucks and large agricultural vehicles and selling them in the Canadian markets. US and Canadian Border Security have directly linked this gang through technical surveillance to the actual trafficking of more than 430 kg of cocaine between 2023 and 2024.
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Commissioner Mike Duhame expressed pride in the success of this massive operation and said that ‘Operation Hard Ball’ is a shining example of unprecedented, modern and best-in-class international cooperation between law enforcement agencies of different countries to root out organized crime and drug cartels around the world.
