News India Live, Digital Desk: The biggest truth of life is death. The one who is born, his death is certain. But what happens to the soul after death? Does she find peace or does she continue to wander? There are many such questions which come to the mind of all of us at one time or the other. Answers to these questions have been given in Garuda Purana, an important text of Hinduism.

Garuda Purana is often associated with death and its subsequent events, due to which many people are afraid to read it. But actually this book teaches us the right way to live life. It tells what actions a person should perform while alive, so that after death his soul can attain salvation i.e. salvation.

Today we will learn about 5 such simple things mentioned in Garuda Purana, by adopting which any person can avoid the sufferings after death and move forward on the path of salvation.

1. Annadan: The biggest donation

“Feeding a hungry person is an act of virtue.” We have been hearing this since childhood. Annadan has been given a very big status in Garuda Purana. According to this, the doors of heaven open for the person who feeds hungry and needy people in his life. After death, his soul does not face any trouble on the way to Yamalok and he attains salvation. Therefore, a small portion of your earnings should always be devoted to charity.

2. Meditation and chanting the name of God

In today’s busy life, we often forget to remember God. But Garuda Purana says that the person who regularly meditates on his presiding deity, performs puja and chants his name, always remains blessed by God. The fear of death goes away from the mind of such a person and after death his soul goes directly to Vaikuntha Dham.

3. Observance of penance and fasting

Penance does not just mean going to the forest and doing meditation. Controlling your mind, controlling your senses and living life selflessly is also a kind of penance. Those who follow the path of truth and dharma in life, observe holy fasts like Ekadashi and keep themselves away from wrongdoings, they stay away from any kind of suffering after death.

4. Bathe in holy rivers

In Hindu religion, rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati are considered very sacred. According to Garuda Purana, a person who bathes in these holy rivers with true devotion, all his sins committed knowingly or unknowingly are washed away. It is believed that by doing this both body and soul become pure, making the path to salvation easier.

5. Cow service

Cow has been given the status of ‘mother’ in Hindu religion. It is told in Garuda Purana that Gods and Goddesses are always pleased with a person who serves cows. The person who feeds the cow, serves it and donates to the cowshed, not only gets happiness and prosperity in his life, but also his soul gets peace and salvation even after death.

In short, Garuda Purana does not scare us, but teaches us that the results of good deeds are always good. If we make these simple things a part of our life while we are alive, then we will neither fear anything in life nor the journey after death.
