Post

News India Live, Digital Desk: The wait for millions of students taking the 11th grade semester examination in West Bengal is now going to end soon. West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is preparing to declare the result of the first semester of class 11 soon. However, a big news has come out before the result, which has given great relief to the students of science stream. It is reported that in the 11th biology paper, a mistake was found in some questions, instead of which students will now be given bonus marks.

What was the mess in biology paper?

This year, the West Bengal Board has implemented semester systems for 11th and 12th grade under the National Education Policy (NEP). Under this, the first semester examinations of class 11 were conducted. However, after the biology paper, many students and teachers complained that one of the two marks of questions given in section-II of the question paper had nothing to do with the syllabus, that is, it was “out of syllabus”.

Board accepts mistake, will get bonus points

Initially, board officials denied any mistake. But now, Council President Chiranjeeb Bhattacharya has accepted the mistake. He has confirmed that students will be given full marks for those wrong questions. This means that students who tried to solve that question in section-II, whether their answer is correct or wrong, will be given a full 5 bonus marks for that question.

This decision is a big relief for students of science stream, as these 5 digits can have a very good impact on their overall results.

When will the result come?

At present, the council has not given any definite date to release the result. However, now that the issue of bonus points is resolved, it is expected that the council will soon announce the results by completing the evaluation process. Students are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the board for updates.
