A very important and big update has come out for lakhs of candidates appearing in the UP Polytechnic Entrance Examination 2026 to be conducted by Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination Council (JEECUP). The Council has completely changed the old time table of the examination due to administrative reasons and accepting the request of the students. Along with this, the admit cards of the examination are also going to go live on the official portal soon, which students will be able to download through their credentials.
Big change in exam dates, now exam will start from June 2
According to the new notification issued by the Council, the entrance examination of UP Polytechnic 2026 will now be held. 2 June to 9 June 2026 Will be conducted in different shifts between. According to the schedule released earlier, this exam was scheduled to be held between May 15 to May 22, 2026. Let us tell you that this year the application process started from January 15 and after extending the date in various stages, the last date for filling the form was fixed as May 20, 2026. As soon as the application process is closed, the council is now busy in final preparations for issuing the admit card.
Exam will be computer based, keep this rule of ‘negative marking’ in mind
This entrance examination will be conducted completely online i.e. Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The main points related to the exam are given below:

Time period: Students will get total time of 2 hours 30 minutes (two and a half hours) to solve the question paper.

Language: The exam will be available in both Hindi and English languages.

Pattern of questions: A total of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked in the examination from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (as per course group).

Marking Scheme: For every correct answer the candidate 4 digit Will be given. Whereas, on giving wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted (Negative Marking). If you do not answer a question, no marks will be deducted for it.

Important guidelines for the examination centre:
Your name, roll number, date of examination, shift time and complete address of the examination center will be mentioned on the admit card. Carry with you a printout of the admit card, a valid government photo identity card, a recent passport size photograph and a transparent ballpoint pen only on the day of examination. Electronic gadgets like mobile, calculator or smartwatch will be completely banned in the examination hall.
After the completion of the examination, the process of online counseling will be started in the last week of June or early July 2026, through which students will be allotted seats in government and private polytechnic colleges on the basis of their rank.
