Ukraine has started a peace initiative after PM Modi's visit to Kiev. But the first question asked by Ukraine is whether the old conditions of the Russian peace proposal still apply to Ukraine. Russia's Foreign Ministry has responded to this.

After visiting Russia and Ukraine separately, PM Modi appealed to both the countries to establish peace through dialogue in the war. After this, a peace proposal has now been sent to President Putin by Ukrainian President Zelensky. Russia has also been questioned in this. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has responded to a question asked by Ukraine's Rossiya Segodnya about Russia's peace proposal.

While briefing on the peace initiative by Ukraine, Rossiya Segodnya asked Russia – “Are Russia’s peace proposals on Ukraine still in force? If initiated by Minsk, Russia will accept the proposals for negotiations on Ukraine. How do you see this?” To this, Russia’s Maria Zakharova replied, “Russia always wants to end the Ukraine conflict as soon as possible and is in favour of starting negotiations. These conditions are aimed at ending the conflict rather than rearming the Kiev regime. Maria said there is no doubt that the initiative put forward by the President of Russia will be a universal and long-term recipe for resolving the Ukraine conflict, as it involves a way to eliminate its root causes. However, recent events show that the Ukraine crisis is very different from peace negotiations. As you know, in August the Zelensky regime carried out a treacherous terrorist attack on the Russian Kursk region. It was a kind of response of the Ukrainian Banderaites to Vladimir Putin's peace initiative. Kiev did not hide that with such a risky step it intended to improve its position in hypothetical negotiations with Russia.
Russia thanks Belarus
Russia said that we are particularly grateful for the repeated peace-building efforts of our Belarusian partners, who provided such a dialogue platform in 2015 when we were working on the Minsk package. They then launched a similar peace initiative in the spring of 2022 when the first round of Russian-Ukrainian talks took place.
