Ujjain: Divine adornment of Lord Mahakal took place on the last day of the year, arrangements of Mahakaleshwar temple area will be changed for two days from today.

Ujjain, December 31: On the last day of the year in view of the English New Year, the doors of the temple were opened at 4 am on Wednesday at Mahakaleshwar temple on the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Paush month. Bhasma Aarti was concluded with special adornment. On this occasion, divine adornment of Lord Mahakal was done. After the doors of the temple were opened, the priests worshiped all the deities installed in the sanctum sanctorum and performed Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakal. After this, Abhishek Puja was performed with Panchamrit made from milk, curd, ghee, honey and fruit juice. Baba did divine makeup by offering moon on the forehead of Mahakal. Hundreds of devotees visited Bhasma Aarti early in the morning and got virtuous benefits. People had darshan of Nandi Maharaj and went near his ear and asked for his blessings to fulfill their wishes. During this time the devotees were also chanting praises of Baba Mahakal. The entire temple was resonating with the praise of Baba.
