Today is the last opportunity to apply for UGC NET June 2026 to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The online registration window for this examination will be permanently closed today, 20th May 2026 at 11:50 pm. Interested and eligible candidates who have not been able to register themselves till now can visit the official website of NTA at ugcnet.nta.nic.in and submit their online application form and pay the examination fee. NTA has clarified that applications will not be accepted under any circumstances after the expiry of the deadline and only those candidates will be considered registered whose examination fee is successfully deposited on time.
Important dates of examination
For the convenience of the candidates, important dates related to the examination are given below, which are very important to note down so that there is no problem in future. The application started on 29 April 2026 and now the process will be completed on 20 May 2026. After this, the correction window will be opened from May 22 to May 24, 2026, in which candidates will be able to make corrections in their forms. The city slip for the exam will be released on June 10, 2026, while the admit card will be made available on June 15, 2026. The main examination will be conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, for which students will be given a total of 3 hours i.e. 180 minutes.
Aadhaar card is not mandatory, verification will be done through DigiLocker
This time NTA has given great relief to the candidates and clarified that Aadhar card is not mandatory for the application. If a candidate does not have Aadhar Card, they can use PAN Card, Driving License or other valid Government Photo ID Card. For identity verification, the option of ‘Meri Pehchan’ single sign-on service and DigiLocker authentication has been provided, making the process very easy. This step is very helpful for those students who were facing Aadhaar related problems.
