News India Live, Digital Desk: The administration has geared up for the grand festival and grand procession of Ram Navami in the capital Patna. To maintain security and peace, Patna Police has completely banned playing DJ during the Shobha Yatra this year. Along with this, in view of the crowd of lakhs gathering at Mahavir Temple and the processions coming out from different parts of the city, the traffic police has issued extensive route diversions and advisories. On March 26 and 27, entry of vehicles will be prohibited on many major roads of the city.
Strict action will be taken if DJ plays, police warns
Patna Police has clarified that playing DJ in Ram Navami procession will be considered a legal offence. Citing noise pollution and security reasons, the administration has already issued notices to DJ operators. The SSP has warned that if the rules are violated by any committee or individual, along with confiscating the DJ, an FIR will also be filed against the people concerned. Only traditional musical instruments and use of loudspeakers within the prescribed decibel limit will be allowed during the procession.
Special route chart for Mahavir temple darshan
Major changes have been made in the traffic in view of the huge crowd of devotees coming to visit the famous Mahavir Temple located at Patna Junction.
Devotees bringing Prasad: Devotees coming with Naivedyam and flower garlands will get entry from the western gate of Veer Kunwar Singh Park. From here one can queue up and reach the temple via GPO Golambar.
Exit route: After darshan, devotees will have to exit from Dakbungla Road or Goriya Toli. Entry from Buddha Marg will be completely closed.
There will be ‘no entry’ and diversion on these roads
According to the traffic police advisory, movement of vehicles will be restricted on many routes from the evening of March 26:
Junction to Dakbangla: No vehicle will be allowed to move from Dakbungalow intersection towards Patna Junction.
GPO and R-Block: There will be barricading on the route from R-Block towards GPO and Junction. Passengers have been advised to proceed to the junction karbigahiya end Use (Backside).
Auto and E-Rickshaw: The operation of auto and e-rickshaw from Boring Road intersection to Income Tax Golambar will remain closed after 5 pm. Passengers going to Gandhi Maidan can use the Rajapur bridge route.
These spaces have been designated for parking
To control the crowd, the administration has allowed parking only at identified places:
Located on Birchand Patel Path Miller High School Field of.
Premises of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC).
Maurya Lok Complex (For VIP and authorized vehicles only).
There will be a complete ban on any type of parking around station Golambar.
Extra vigilance due to metro construction work
Due to the ongoing metro construction work near Patna Junction, the roads have become narrow. In view of this, the police have created separate lanes for pedestrians and vehicles. The District Magistrate and SSP themselves inspected the route and instructed the officials that in view of the scorching heat, proper arrangements should be made for drinking water and shade for the devotees standing in the queues.
