News India Live, Digital Desk: Chaiti Chhath 2026, the great festival of faith, purity and sun worship, is at its peak. Today after taking bath, 23 March 2026 On this day the devotees are performing the ritual of ‘Kharna’. Time and method of worship of Kharna: Special importance of purity.
Kharna Prasad will be consumed after sunset this evening. According to religious beliefs, Kharna Prasad should be taken in solitude and there should be complete peace in the house at that time. ‘Rasiya’ (kheer) made of cow’s milk and jaggery and wheat bread are offered as Prasad. Right after Kharna, the songs of Chhathi Maiya echo in the house and preparations for making Prasad intensify.
