How many fasts should one keep on Wednesday and when should one start?
According to astrological calculations and mythological scriptures, to attain the full blessings of Lord Ganesha, fasting for at least 7 or 21 consecutive Wednesdays is considered the best. Some people keep this fast for 1 year or even 45 Wednesdays continuously to fulfill their special wishes. Starting this fast from the first Wednesday of Shukla Paksha (Bright Fortnight) of any month is considered very auspicious and fruitful. If you are also planning to start this fast, then choose the Wednesday of Shukla Paksha, because during this time the position of Moon and Mercury is very favourable, which brings your resolution to fruition.
What are the strict rules of Wednesday fast from morning to evening?
Wednesday’s fast is observed with utmost rules and restraint. On the day of fasting, wake up before sunrise and take bath etc. After this, clean the temple of your house and keep a copper pot filled with water.
