Fasting rules and precautions

On the day of Pradosh fast, one should stay away from anger and vengeful food (onion, garlic). Remain fasting throughout the day and consume fruits only after evening puja. It is believed that by reciting Shiv Chalisa on this day and donating moong dal or green clothes to the needy, Lord Mercury is pleased and the obstacles in work are removed.
