News India Live, Digital Desk: Former US President Donald Trump is once again in the news for his outspoken style. He recently made a vigorous defense of his tariff policy, calling those criticizing it “idiots.” Not only this, he claimed that because of his policies America has become the richest and most respected country in the world today.

In a post on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’, Trump wrote, “Those who are against tariffs are fools.” He claimed that during his reign there was almost no inflation in America and the stock market was at new heights. Trump says that America is earning trillions of dollars from tariffs, which can pay off the country’s huge debt of $37 trillion.

Promise to give 2000 dollars to every American

Trump did not stop here. He made a big announcement and said that soon every American citizen will be given a dividend (share of profit) of 2000 dollars from the earnings from tariff. However, he also clarified that this benefit will not be available to high income people. He also said that because of tariffs, investment in America is increasing and new factories are being set up across the country.

The case is also going on in the Supreme Court

Interestingly, this statement of Trump has come at a time when his tariff policies have been challenged in the US Supreme Court. The court is investigating whether the President has the authority to impose tariffs in this manner or not. Many experts believe that if the court gives a verdict against Trump, it will be a big blow for him and America may have to give a refund of more than 100 billion dollars.

These statements of Trump have started a new debate in America. His supporters are considering this as proof of the economic strength of the country, while critics are calling it a step that will increase the burden of inflation on the common people. Now it remains to be seen how much truth is there in these claims of Trump and what impact his policies will have on the economy of America and the world in the future.
