News India Live, Digital Desk: Nowadays, our busy life and deteriorating eating habits first affect our health. In this, ‘cholesterol’ is a problem which is often called ‘silent killer’. Why? Because often people think that unless a blood test is done, it cannot be detected. But do you know that your body, especially your face and your eyes, starts giving some signals before time which indicate that dirty fat i.e. cholesterol is getting accumulated in your veins.

Many people ignore these marks considering them as fatigue or increasing age, but understanding them is very important for the health of your heart. Let us know about those small signs visible on the face which can actually be a big warning.

1. Yellow marks around the eyes (Xanthelasma)
If you start seeing light yellow raised marks or lumps around your upper or lower eyelids, then be alert. In medical language it is called ‘Xanthelasma’. These are actually small deposits of cholesterol which start gathering under the skin. These do not cause pain, but their appearance is a clear indication that the lipid levels in your body have deteriorated.

2. White circle around the pupil of the eye (Arcus Senilis)
Look carefully at your eyes in the mirror. Do you see a white, light blue or gray circle around the outer edge of the pupil (chorea)? If your age is more than 45-50 years, then this may be normal. But if you are young and this ring is visible in your eyes, then it is called ‘Arcus senilis’ and is considered to be a very clear symptom of high cholesterol.

3. Swelling and heaviness under the eyes
However, puffy eyes can also be caused by less sleep or stress. But if this problem persists for a long time and the glow of the face is gradually decreasing, then it could be the result of poor blood circulation and cholesterol deposited in the veins.

Should we panic as soon as these symptoms appear?
The surprising thing is that these symptoms of cholesterol appear when the level has increased significantly. If you see any of these marks, instead of panicking, immediately consult a doctor and get a ‘lipid profile’ test done. Often people start trying home remedies, which is fine, but there is no substitute for medical advice and right lifestyle.

A little advice:
Winter season (January of 2026) is going on, in such a situation we often eat more fried and heavy food. Try to include oats, green vegetables and nuts in your diet. Make a habit of walking a little. Remember, your face not only reflects your beauty, but it is also a report card of your health.
