Recently he has remembered the darkest chapter of his life i.e. those days spent in jail, which had shaken his soul. Sharing an emotional note, Vikram Bhatt narrated how every moment spent behind the bars made him feel closer to death and at that time only ‘Shakti’ (Goddess Mother) was his only support.

The silence of the dungeon and the fear of death

Vikram Bhatt, while sharing his experiences, said that the walls of the prison break a person from within. He wrote that when he was in jail, he was afraid every moment that he might end up in this very dungeon. He used to pray only one prayer day and night – “O Mother Goddess, I do not want to die here.” He told that in that environment of jail, a person forgets all his identity and ego, there is only a fight for survival.

The director told that his jail days brought him closer to spirituality. When all the paths of the world seemed closed, he took refuge in God. He recalled how he would pray for hours and try to keep himself mentally strong. According to Vikram, that experience was like a ‘rebirth’ for him, which made him understand the real value of life.
