Since Ghaziabad became the Lok Sabha seat, BJP candidates are being elected as MPs here. Sahibabad assembly played an important role in winning the Ghaziabad seat, which is the largest assembly in UP. The number of voters here is 10,33,314. Therefore, this time also the focus of all the parties along with BJP, which scored a hat-trick of victories, will be on Sahibabad.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate got 9,44,503 votes.
Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency includes parts of Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, Loni assembly constituencies along with Sahibabad and Dhaula assembly constituencies. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP's VK Singh got 9,44,503 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Samajwadi Party candidate Suresh Bansal by 501,500 votes.
VK Singh got 36 percent votes from the voters of Sahibabad Assembly. From Sahibabad, VK Singh got 3,39,122 votes and Suresh Bansal got 79,410 votes. From this seat itself, winner VK Singh got a decisive lead of 2,59,712 votes. Not enough votes could be added to the victory margin on the remaining seats. As far as lead votes are concerned, about 52 percent votes were from Sahibabad assembly seat. The victory margin in the remaining three assembly seats of Ghaziabad could be only 48%. On the other hand, in Dhaulana, Suresh Bansal got more votes than VK Singh.
For this reason the focus of all parties remains on this.
Loni Lok Sabha constituency is second among the five assemblies and the number of voters in Sahibabad is almost double. There are 5,17,604 voters in Loni while 10,33,314 voters in Sahibabad will be able to cast their votes to elect MPs this time. Not only this, out of the total 29,02,231 voters of the Lok Sabha seat, about 36 percent of the voters are from Sahibabad Assembly seat. This is the reason why this seat gives a decisive edge in victory and with more than 10 lakh voters, the candidates from here are expected to get more votes.
