News India Live, Digital Desk: Every mother has only one wish – her child should always be happy and safe. With this wish, a very special and difficult fast is observed in Hindu religion, which is known as ‘Ahoi Ashtami’. This fast is the biggest symbol of the sacred relationship between mother and child. Every year, exactly eight days before Diwali, on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month, mothers observe this fast without drinking water (Nirjala) for the long life, good health and happiness and prosperity of their children.
In the year 2025, this holy fast will be observed on Monday, 13 October.
On this day, women keep fast throughout the day and worship Ahoi Mata (who is considered to be the form of Mother Parvati) in the evening. It is believed that Ahoi Mata averts every trouble that may come to the children of the mother who worships and fasts with full devotion on this day.
Why is Aarti important after puja?
It is said in the scriptures that no puja is considered complete unless Aarti is performed at its end. By performing Aarti, one gets forgiveness for any known or unknown mistake committed during the puja and one gets the full results of the puja. Therefore, after the worship of Ahoi Ashtami, it is very important to perform the Aarti of Ahoi Mata.
