News India Live, Digital Desk: Indian Postal Department (India Post) is soon going to release the second merit list for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026. Thousands of candidates who could not make it to the first list now have their eyes set on this second list. This recruitment being done by the department on 28,636 posts includes posts like Branch Post Master (BPM) and Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM). According to the latest update, the process of document verification of the first merit list has been completed on March 23, after which the second list can now be uploaded on the official website anytime in the first week of April.

The most important thing about India Post GDS recruitment is that there is no written examination or interview in it. Selection is purely based on marks obtained (merit) in 10th class. In the first list, the cut-off was quite high in many circles, but it is expected to drop slightly in the second list. The department releases the second list to fill those seats for which the candidates selected in the first list did not appear for document verification or whose documents were found incomplete.
