Jabalpur railway station vendor: You are in a hurry to catch a train, UPI payment fails and the samosa seller grabs your collar… it sounds so strange. But imagine, what if he forcefully removes your expensive watch from your wrist if you do not get the money?

This is not a film scene, but a true and shameful incident that happened at Jabalpur Railway Station, the video of which is now making everyone’s blood boil on social media.

What happened at the station?

This entire incident happened on platform number 5. A passenger bought samosa from a vendor. When he tried to pay through UPI, the payment failed due to some technical reason. Meanwhile the train started moving and the passenger ran towards his train.

What happened next was surprising. The samosa seller chased the passenger, grabbed him by the collar near the moving train and when the passenger tried to free himself, he forcefully pulled the watch from his wrist. This entire bullying was captured in the CCTV cameras installed there and in the mobile phone of a passenger. This action of the vendor can be clearly seen in this 34 second video.

Power of social media and action of Railways

As soon as this video was shared on ‘X’ (Twitter), it spread like wildfire. People demanded immediate action from the Railways. The good thing is that the railway administration showed amazing speed on this.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Jabalpur himself took cognizance of this video and ordered the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to take immediate action. Within a few hours, RPF found the accused samosa seller and took him into custody.

Giving information on ‘X’, DRM said that the accused has been arrested and the process of canceling his vending license has also been started. Railways has made it clear that any such tampering with the safety of passengers will not be tolerated.
