The official dates for the opening of the doors of Baba Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, the centers of faith of millions of devotees, have been announced. According to the calendar and traditions, the time of opening of the doors of the four Dhams has been fixed as follows:

Yamunotri Dham: 19 April 2026 (morning on Akshaya Tritiya)

Gangotri Dham: 19 April 2026 (afternoon on Akshaya Tritiya)

Kedarnath Dham: 22 April 2026 (08:00 am)

Badrinath Dham: 23 April 2026 (06:15 am)

These dates were announced by learned priests on the occasion of Mahashivratri and Basant Panchami. The journey starts from Yamunotri and ends with a visit to Badrinath Dham.

Registration process started: More than 11 lakh people registered

Registration is mandatory for every devotee coming on Chardham Yatra. Without registration, no traveler will be allowed to go beyond Rishikesh.

Necessary documents and preparation for travel

Devotees have been advised to carry Aadhar card or any valid photo identity card with them. Since the journey takes place in remote areas of the Himalayas, it is mandatory to carry a health check-up and adequate warm clothes. Booking of helicopter services for Kedarnath and Badrinath has also started through IRCTC. Passengers are advised to book tickets only from the official website to avoid any kind of fraud.

The journey will conclude with the onset of winter in the first week of November:

Gangotri: 10 November 2026 (Govardhan Puja)

Kedarnath and Yamunotri: 11 November 2026 (Bhaiya Dooj)
