Former Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has made a sharp attack on the Nitish government regarding the reinstatement process of music teachers in government schools of the state. Tejashwi has alleged that irregularities are being committed on a large scale in the entire recruitment process and the deserving candidates are being ignored and the money is being distributed among their own people. Through social media and press conferences, he has sought answers from the government as to why every recruitment falls prey to some controversy or corruption?

Raising questions on the recruitment figures and selection process, Tejashwi Yadav said that there was already a delay in getting teachers for subjects like music in the schools of Bihar and now when the opportunity has come, there is a lack of transparency in it. He said that “It has become a habit of the government to play with the future of the talented youth of Bihar.” Tejashwi claimed that there are many flaws in the merit list and marks determination which directly point towards corruption. After his statement, there was a stir in the education department.

The RJD leader cornered Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the NDA government and said that the process of providing lakhs of jobs which we had started during our tenure, has been stopped by the present government. According to Tejashwi, rigging in the recruitment of music teachers is only one example, in fact the entire system has become weak. He warned that if the government does not soon conduct a high-level inquiry into this recruitment process and correct the irregularities, then they will take to the streets and launch a violent protest for the rights of the youth.

The ruling party has also started counter-attacking on Tejashwi’s allegations. Government spokespersons say that the recruitment is being done in a completely rule-compliant and transparent manner. The opposition is only out of frustration and misleading the youth by making baseless allegations. However, the prevailing skepticism among the candidates and Tejashwi’s tough stance have made this issue the center of Bihar politics. Now it remains to be seen whether the Education Department issues any clarification on these allegations or whether this dispute will reach the threshold of the court.
