Actress Julie (also known as Maria Juliana), who made her mark with ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’, has recently made very serious allegations of mental harassment and online harassment against Chief Minister Vijay and his party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) supporters.
Julie claims that she was targeted and trolled on social media to such an extent that she fell into deep mental stress, due to which she had to lose her unborn child.
Expressed pain in press conference in Chennai
Actress Julie called a press conference in Chennai, where she tearfully narrated her ordeal and also raised questions on the functioning of the police administration. Julie told that she had lodged a complaint with the Chennai Police in March this year regarding the indecent comments and character assassination on social media. She had filed a named complaint against 8 people who allegedly harassed her online.
According to the actress, she later received a notice from the police stating that this case is not of any criminal category, but comes under civil defamation. Expressing surprise at this, Julie said that when this complaint was filed, there was a DMK government in the state, but as soon as there was a change of power and TVK government was formed, this notice was given to her.
Clarification given on ‘kidney scam’ allegations
Julie alleged that when she tried to express her views on social media, false stories were systematically fabricated against her. Allegations of alleged kidney scam of ₹15 lakh started spreading against him on the internet. The actress claims that a supporter of Chief Minister Vijay’s party and a lawyer are completely behind the tarnishing of her name.
Julie said clearly:
“I had a miscarriage due to online harassment and constant mental stress. I am not telling this to people to get sympathy. For me, this is a fight for self-respect, because very dirty and fabricated things are being spread about me and my husband on social media. All the women who are speaking against the policies of the TVK party or their work, their character is being defamed without any shame.”
“Vijay Anna should have stopped his supporters”
In the last part of the press conference, Julie directly targeted Chief Minister Vijay. He said that Vijay Anna has reached the post of Chief Minister on the basis of the popularity of social media and Instagram. Now that he has become the head of the state, it is his responsibility to work for the welfare of his people.
Julie emotionally said that even though the Chief Minister did not say or do anything to her personally, when his supporters were harassing a woman so much on the internet, the Chief Minister did not say even a word to his people to step back. He said that if the Chief Minister had stopped his supporters, he would not have had to suffer such a huge personal loss today. Since this entire matter came to light, a debate has erupted on social media in support and against actress Julie.
