News India Live, Digital Desk: Karnataka School Holidays : A big and surprising news has come for the students studying in government and aided schools of Karnataka. The state government has extended the Dussehra holidays in schools and now schools will remain closed till October 18. It is a matter of happiness for children, but there is a very big and important reason hidden behind these holidays.

So why were the holidays extended suddenly?

These holidays are directly related to what is going on in the state. ‘Social and Educational Survey’ which in common language is from ‘Caste Survey’ Or it is also being called ‘caste census’. Government teachers across the state have been put on duty to complete this huge survey.

Earlier this work was to be completed by October 7, but the survey work could not be completed as expected. In many districts, especially in big cities like Bengaluru, a lot of work still remains.

Teachers’ organizations requested the government to give them some more time to complete this important national work so that they can go door-to-door and collect correct information. Responding to this request, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced holidays in schools from October 8 to October 18, so that teachers can complete the survey work without any interruption.

Will there be any harm to studies?

The government has made it clear that there will be no loss of students’ education due to these holidays. To make up for these missed days when schools reopen Special Classes Will be done so that the syllabus can be completed on time.

So while on one hand the children have got unexpectedly long holidays, on the other hand their teachers are busy fulfilling a huge national responsibility.
