News India Live, Digital Desk: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued important guidelines regarding the upcoming board examinations of class 10th and 12th. While curbing the arbitrariness of the schools, the Board has made it clear that during the submission of ‘LOC’ (List of Candidates), no additional ‘hidden charge’ can be taken from the students or parents apart from the prescribed fee. Along with this, strict rules have also been implemented regarding ‘second exam’ (supplementary examination) to maintain the confidentiality of the question papers.

LOC submission: Board’s strict stance regarding fees

CBSE has issued a circular to all affiliated schools cautioning them to charge only the examination fees and migration fees fixed by the board while submitting LOC. There are often complaints that schools charge huge amounts in the name of ‘administrative fees’ or ‘processing fees’. The board has made it clear that if any school asks for additional money, punitive action can be taken against it.

Ban on sharing of question papers

CBSE has made another major change to maintain the sanctity of the examination. The board has ordered that the question papers of ‘second exam’ (which students appear for marks improvement or compartment) will not be shared under any circumstances. Schools have been directed to adopt a zero-tolerance policy in the distribution and handling of question papers inside and outside the examination centre. Taking photographs of question papers or circulating them through digital means will now fall under the category of serious crime.

What is the relief for students?

These new rules of the board will benefit the most from those students who come from economically weaker backgrounds. Now they will get freedom from illegal collection from schools. Also, it will be the responsibility of the schools to upload the LOC data correctly on time, so that there is no technical glitch in the admit card or result of the students in future.
