Unique discussion of three friends
Once upon a time, three close friends lived in a prosperous city. Among those three, one was the son of a king, the second was the son of a big Seth and the third was the son of an ordinary Brahmin. All three friends were married, but Seth’s son was yet to have ‘Gauna’ (seeing off his wife and bringing her home for the first time after marriage).
One day all three friends were sitting at one place and talking among themselves. While talking, the Brahmin’s son said, “The house where a woman does not live, that house does not seem like a house of humans but like a camp of ghosts.” These deep words of his friend touched Seth’s son’s heart. He decided at that very moment that he would send his wife away very soon and bring her home.
When father called for Venus to set
Seth’s son immediately reached his home and expressed his desire to bid farewell to his daughter-in-law in front of his father. On this Seth explained to him and said, “Son! At this time in the sky Shukra Dev Asta (Combust) Are walking. According to the scriptures, when Venus is set, no daughter-in-law or daughter is bid farewell and allowed to enter a new house. This is considered extremely inauspicious. You be patient for a few days, when Venus rises, then bring your wife with great pomp.” But the young man remained adamant on his insistence and ignored his father’s words and quietly reached his in-laws’ house.
Stubbornness in in-laws’ house and troubles on the way
When he reached his in-laws’ house, his mother-in-law and father-in-law also tried to stop him by saying that Venus had set, but they had to bow down to the stubbornness of their son-in-law. With a heavy heart he bid farewell to his daughter.
As soon as the young man left the city limits with his wife in the bullock cart, a major accident happened. Suddenly the wheel of the bullock cart came off and the leg of one of the bulls pulling the cart was broken. His newly married wife also suffered serious injuries in this terrible accident. Still the young man did not give up his insistence and continued moving forward with his wife. Facing all these troubles, when the young man somehow reached his home with his wife, death was waiting for him there too. As soon as he stepped on the threshold of the house, a poisonous black snake bit Seth’s son. The young man started writhing in agony. Vaidya ji was immediately called, who felt his pulse and raised his hands and said that this poison is very dangerous, this boy has been a guest for hardly 3 days.
As soon as he got the news of his friend’s condition, the Brahmin’s son came running there. Giving a solution to the sad Seth, he said, “Seth Ji! All this has happened due to forcibly bringing the daughter-in-law home during the setting of Shukra Dev. Without wasting any time, send your daughter-in-law back to her maternal home (in-laws house) along with this injured son. Perhaps by going there, the wrath of Shukra Dev will be calmed and your son’s life will be saved.”
Seth understood what the Brahmin son said. He immediately arranged for a palanquin and sent the daughter-in-law and son back to their in-laws’ home. The surprising thing was that as soon as he stepped inside the in-laws’ house, Seth’s son’s health started improving miraculously. The entire poison of the snake gradually disappeared and he became completely healthy. After this, when Lord Shukra emerged again, he respectfully brought his wife to his home with all the rituals and both of them started living a happy life.
