News India Live, Digital Desk: The massive explosion in Kanpur, UP had shocked everyone, and now the real truth behind this incident has come to light. While earlier it was being linked to some terrorist incident, Kanpur Police has now unveiled shocking revelations. Considering the gross negligence in this matter, six policemen including an Inspector have been suspended, and an ACP has also been transferred.
What happened that night?
This incident took place at around 7:20 pm in the haberdashery market of Mishri Bazaar in Moolganj. The explosion was so powerful that its sound was heard up to a kilometer away, creating panic in the entire area. Initial information suggested that the blast had taken place in two scooters, or perhaps in one scooter. But a thorough police investigation that lasted throughout the night and a CCTV footage in hand changed the whole picture.
Real reason for the blast: Stockpile of illegal firecrackers
Investigation revealed that the blast had nothing to do with terrorism. Joint Police Commissioner Law and Order Ashutosh Kumar clarified that a large quantity of ready-made firecrackers and firecracker gunpowder were stored illegally in several shops at the site of the blast. The CCTV footage clearly showed that the explosion had taken place in a pile of firecrackers kept in the shop.
The blame fell on the police, many officers were removed
After this truth came to light, the police administration also came into action. Such a large quantity of illegal firecrackers and gunpowder was being stored in the residential area and the police had no idea about it. Considering this as gross negligence, the Police Commissioner has taken strict action. A total of six policemen including the SHO and the outpost in-charge have been suspended with immediate effect. Apart from this, an ACP has also been removed from the post, thereby sending a clear message that such negligence will not be tolerated.
Police searched these shops and recovered a huge quantity of firecrackers and gunpowder. Now the administration is searching for those shop owners who were storing and selling gunpowder on such a large scale in this residential area without permission. The raid on illegal firecracker traders is going on, and they will be arrested as soon as possible. This action is a big warning to all those people who do such illegal business by endangering the lives of the general public.
