Russia reiterated: Moscow has once again reiterated its unwavering commitment to resolve the issue of Iran’s nuclear program in peaceful ways. The statement was made in front of Russian media by Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, in which he underlined that Moscow strongly supports political and diplomatic solutions on the Iranian nuclear file.
The statement came at a time when concerns over the issue continuously between many Western countries like Israel and the United States, especially despite the ongoing military operations in Ukraine and the busyness of Russian diplomats. Rayabkov said, “Our policy is clear and we believe that the problem related to Iran’s nuclear program can only be solved with peaceful diplomatic measures.”
Rayabkov emphasized that the restriction and pressure strategy is not the way for the solution. He believes that use of force on this issue or any kind of struggle should be avoided. The Russian Foreign Ministry has previously advocated international cooperation and the withdrawal of the 2015 Iran Nuclear Agreement (JCPOA), so that this controversial issue can be resolved.
Russia has been continuously arguing that Iran’s atomic program can be effectively controlled and verified by only widespread diplomatic efforts and interactions by all concerned parties. The status of Moscow emphasizes that diplomacy is the best way for stability and safety.
