Material

  • Flour – 2 cups
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Water – as required (to knead)
  • Mashed chicken – 250 grams
  • Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic-5-6 buds (finely chopped)
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece (finely chopped)
  • Green Chilli – 1 (optional)
  • Coriander – a little bit
  • Soya Sauce – 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • Oil – 1 tbsp

Action

  • To make chicken momos, first of all mix flour, salt and oil, add some water and knead hard dough.
    Cover and keep it for 30 minutes.
  • Add all the filling ingredients (at least chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, coriander, sauce, black pepper, salt) and mix well in a bowl.
  • You can keep this mixture in the fridge for a while – the taste will develop.
  • Make small pills of flour, roll them and give them a log shape and fill 1 tbsp stuffing in them.
  • Stick the edges together, apply water, and close them in different shapes.
  • Keep the momos with some oil in an idli plate or steamer.
  • Cover and cook in steam for 10-15 minutes. They are ready when they look transparent from outside.
  • Serve hot momos with shejwan chutney, tomato garlic chutney or mayonnaise.
  • If you want, these momos can also be eaten by deep frying them.
