On Saturday (28 March 2026), the Railway Board has approved the route and time table of these trains. These trains will be seen running on the tracks from next week.
1. Amrit Bharat Express: Patna to Delhi (Anand Vihar)
This is the biggest highlight of this announcement. This modern orange and gray train is completely non-AC, but has facilities like premium trains.
Route: Patna Junction ➔ Arrah ➔ Buxar ➔ Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction ➔ Prayagraj ➔ Kanpur Central ➔ Anand Vihar Terminal.
Time: This train is from Patna at night at 10:15 Will open at noon the next day at 12:30 Will reach Delhi.

Route: Gaya ➔ Manpur ➔ Wazirganj ➔ Tilaiya ➔ Nawada ➔ Warisaliganj ➔ Sheikhpura ➔ Kiul.
Time: morning from gaya at 6:00 Departure and afternoon at 10:45 arrival. Return from Kiul in the evening at 5:30 Departure.
3. Intercity Express: Saharsa to Bhagalpur (Via Munger)
This will prove to be an important link to connect Kosi and Ang areas.
Route: Saharsa ➔ Khagaria ➔ Munger (rail cum road bridge) ➔ Sultanganj ➔ Bhagalpur.
Benefit: This journey via Munger bridge is now only 3 hours This will be completed in 15 minutes, which will result in huge saving of time.

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway (ECR), the introduction of these trains will help in controlling the crowd during summer holidays and upcoming festivals.
“The fare of Amrit Bharat train has been kept the same as that of normal express trains so that people with low income can also avail modern facilities.”
