Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced recruitment for 979 posts for Civil Services Examination 2025. The application process has started from 22 January 2025 at upsc.gov.in, and the last date for application is 11 February 2025.
UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2025 will be held on 25th May 2025. This time also the policy of First Apply, First Allot has been implemented, which means that the earlier you apply, the higher are the chances of getting your desired exam center city. Through this examination, officers will be selected in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other all India services.
A total of 979 posts will be recruited this year, out of which 38 posts are reserved for PWD candidates. This year there are 77 posts less than last year.

Ability:
- To apply, the minimum age of the candidates should be 21 years and maximum age should be 32 years.
- The age of the candidates will be calculated considering 1st August 2025 as the basis. Candidates date of birth should not be earlier than 2nd August 1993 and not later than 1st August 2004.
- Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in age limit.
- For UPSC Civil Services posts, graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university is required.
Attempt Limit:
- General category candidates get 6 attempts till the age of 32 years.
- OBC candidates get 9 attempts till the age of 35 years.
- SC/ST candidates get unlimited attempts till the age of 37 years.
Application Fee:
- General/OBC candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 100.
- Women, SC, ST and PwBD candidates will not have to pay any fee.
