News India Live, Digital Desk: There is great news for the youth who are dreaming of a government job in the Indian Postal Department. The first merit list for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment has been officially released. The results for various circles in the country including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are now available on the portal. The special thing is that the selection in this recruitment has been done entirely on the basis of 10th marks, that is, no written examination has been taken.

Merit list of these states was uploaded first

Department of Posts has put the list of circle-wise shortlisted candidates on its official website.

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar: These two states had the highest number of applications, and the cut-off here was quite high as expected.

Rajasthan and MP: The results of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Circle have also been made available in PDF format.

Other states: Candidates of Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra and Delhi Circle can also check their names in the list.

How and where to download the merit list PDF?

Candidates do not need to visit any third party website to check their result. You can view the list with these easy steps:

Right side of homepage ‘Candidate Corner’ Click on ‘Shortlisted Candidates’ in the section.

Move the cursor to the name of your state (circle) and from there ‘List-I’ Select.

Once the PDF opens, search your registration number or name.

Very less time for document verification!

Candidates whose name has appeared in the first merit list should not delay at all now. To shortlisted candidates 23 March 2026 You will have to report to your respective divisional head for document verification by 2020.

Required Documents: Be sure to carry the original 10th mark sheet, caste certificate, residence certificate and photocopy of Aadhar card along with the original copy.

Caution: If you do not reach the scheduled date, your name will be removed from the list and the waitlisted candidate will get the chance.

Will the second and third merit list come?

Yes, it has been the tradition of the Postal Department that to fill the seats remaining vacant after the first list, Supplementary List (2nd & 3rd Merit List) Is issued. Those candidates whose names are missing by a few marks in the first list, there is no need to be disappointed. The next list is likely to come in the first week of April.
