Politics hot due to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s controversial statement on Supreme Court

Nishikant Dubey, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and MP from Godda in Jharkhand, has given a controversial statement about the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of the country, which has caused politics to become hot. He has alleged that the Supreme Court is going beyond its boundaries to incite “religious war” in the country. Not only this, he also said that if the Supreme Court has to do the work of making laws, then Parliament and Assembly should be closed.

Nishikant Dubey said, “The Supreme Court is responsible for inciting religious war in the country. If everything decides everything, then what will be the work of Parliament and Legislative Assembly? They should be shut down.”

He cited the Constitution, saying that according to Article 141 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court’s decisions apply to all courts, but Article 368 makes it clear that Parliament has the right to make laws. He said that the task of the Supreme Court is only to explain the laws, not enacting new laws.

Dubey further said, “The Supreme Court is giving instructions to the President and the Governor today, which is out of its limits. The court has also taken a wrong stance in cases like Ram temple, Krishna Janmabhoomi and Gyanvapi. He is taking the country towards chaos.”

Following this statement of the BJP MP, the opposition parties criticized the BJP and emphasized the honor of the judiciary. At the same time, BJP president JP Nadda immediately made it clear that Dubey’s views are not of the party but his personal.

In particular, this statement comes at a time when the constitutionality of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 is going on in the Supreme Court, causing political and constitutional debate even more sharp.
