News India Live, Digital Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again opened a front against the Central Government and BJP. This time the Chief Minister’s plane has become the center of controversy. Mamata Banerjee has made serious allegations that the BJP has deliberately deployed its ‘elected’ officials at the airport to delay her election tours. The Chief Minister roared that his plane was made to wait unnecessarily for 30 minutes on the runway, which was a well-planned conspiracy to disrupt his programmes.
‘Same thing happened with Hemant Soren’
Mamata Banerjee compared this incident to the recent situation with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He alleged that Hemant Soren’s chopper was not allowed to land because of PM Modi’s ‘Jhalmudi’ eating program in Jhargram. Mamata said, “The same thing is being done to me now. From the airport to the administration, BJP’s favorite faces have been deployed to stop our programmes.”
BJP captures administration and warns of ‘revenge’
Addressing an election rally in Khardaha, Mamata Banerjee said that TMC has to work hard to get permission for rallies and meetings. He alleged that a certain person, who considers himself a big leader of the BJP, has been put on election duty and is creating problems for the people. Mamata said in a warning tone, “They are deliberately stopping me so that the programs are delayed. We will give a befitting reply to this insult and arrogance in a democratic manner and take revenge.”
‘False cases’ and conspiracy to arrest activists
The Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on the BJP, claiming that TMC workers were being targeted to win the elections. He said, “The BJP has planned to impose false drug-related cases on our workers and arrest them. The officer who is in-charge here takes approval from the BJP office before giving any permission.” Mamta appealed to the administrative officials to work without any discrimination.
Questions raised on EVMs and army’s presence
During the public meeting, Mamata Banerjee sought votes in favor of TMC candidate Devdeep Purohit from Khardaha assembly constituency. He also cautioned voters to be aware of possible EVM malfunctions and voting irregularities. He also raised questions on the presence of army and central forces in large numbers during the elections in the state and termed it as politics of intimidation.
