Generative AI has become an important commercial imperative for Indian companies and most commercial giants are giving priority to AI. This has been revealed by a report. However, according to a report by professional networking platform LinkedIn, finding the right AI and related skills professionals to use the full potential of technology is an important challenge for these companies. According to the report, about 54 percent of human resource professionals in India said that only half of the job applicants have all the necessary and preferred qualifications.
Lack of people with these skills
The biggest challenge for human resource professionals is to find candidates with correct technical skills (61 percent) and soft skills (57 percent). The report states, “The most difficult skills in India include technical/IT skills such as software development, engineering (44 percent), AI skills (34 percent) and communication and problem solutions (33 percent).” This shortage of eligible candidates for employment is forcing companies to be more selective in their recruitment processes.
Selected recruitment companies
According to the report, companies are adopting the ‘selected recruitment’ method in the year 2025. The selected recruitment is the process of recruitment and selection of the right people with the right qualities to suit the needs of the organization. The report states that more than half of the human resource professionals in India will consider only those candidates (55 percent) and keeping them on the job (54 percent) who meet 80 percent or more of the eligibility norms prescribed for the job. Emphasizing prioritizing skills in recruitment, India’s head of talent and learning solutions in LinkedIn said, “AI is changing how to develop talent, but the real challenge is to make AI working for business. Often, companies invest resources in AI devices without proper talent, and fail to take advantage of sports-transformed opportunities. He said, “To get out of this cycle, companies need to recruit with skill-first mentality.” AI will promote innovation, but will help human skill companies such as creativity, communication and cooperation to be really ahead of change.
