News India Live, Digital Desk: There was chaos at the Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport located in Patna, the capital of Bihar, on Friday, April 3, 2026, when three live cartridges were recovered from the bag of a passenger during security check. This passenger, who was preparing to go to Delhi by Air India flight, was immediately taken into custody by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. Security agencies have been alerted by the news of cartridges being found at a sensitive place like the airport and the matter is being investigated thoroughly.
Exposed during screening, accused arrested
The arrested passenger has been identified as Syed Mohsin Ali Masoomi, who is said to be a resident of Purnendu Nagar, Phulwari Sharif, Patna. According to the information, Mohsin was about to go to Delhi by Air India flight (AI-450) at 10:30 am. When her bag passed through the X-ray machine, CISF personnel Jigyasa Kumari, on duty, noticed a suspicious object in it. On opening the bag and searching, three live cartridges of 8 mm caliber were found in it. He was immediately stopped for not having valid documents or license.
‘I don’t know where the bullet came from in the bag’
During the initial interrogation conducted by CISF, the accused made strange claims. Mohsin said that he was going to Delhi to get his ailing brother admitted to a private hospital in Noida. He told that he has no information as to how the cartridges reached his bag. The accused says that this might have happened by mistake, although the police are looking at this argument with suspicion. The police is trying to find out whether there is a well-planned conspiracy behind this or whether it is merely a result of negligence.
A person with ‘political connections’ in police custody
According to sources, the arrested passenger is said to be related to a political family, due to which the matter has come into even more discussion. After completing the paperwork, CISF has handed over the accused to the Airport Police Station. Police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Arms Act. After this incident, security arrangements have been tightened at the airport and every passenger is being searched thoroughly so that any such mistake can be avoided in future.
